Datalign is a modular cloud-based Data Governance Platform (DGP) that is designed to give organisations with large and diverse data assets, better control and better visibility over what data they have.
Governments and organisations frequently need to gather information from a variety of outside sources. Normally these data are gathered by isolated teams with special tools and a specific purpose in mind. This often means that data collection is patchy, unsystematic and focussed on the requirements of the particular team. Sometimes little thought is given to how to share the data, or how to prevent them from getting into the wrong hands.
The Datalign platform provides systematic oversight of incoming data through terminals and pipelines. Terminals are places where data are stored and include repositories like warehouses, search engines, and object stores. Pipelines are the connections between the terminals. Powering each pipeline are processors which can be configured to perform a variety of cleansing and transformation operations.
Datalign terminals and pipelines allow corporate data managers to automatically route incoming data through standard quality processes, and to monitor and track them from their source, through various transformations to their final destination.
This creates more opportunities for safely sharing data whilst ensuring that security, privacy and licensing receive proper attention.
Pipelines and terminals are a module for Datalign, which means that they work together with the collection services, the events system and the powerful workflow engine, to ensure that all data that enters the system are monitored and put to the best possible use.
