Datalign is a modular cloud-based Data Governance Platform (DGP) that is designed to give organisations with large and diverse data assets, better control and better visibility over what data they have.
Datalign is very much a live project for Combase. Our team is constantly building and improving every aspect of the they system. As a result, there is always something on the drawing board. We invite our subscribers to offer suggestions and to negotiate priorities. Below is a list of the priorities as they stand, but of course it all depends on you.
THE DATA EXPLORER
The Data Explorer is a browsing interface that is designed to complement the search interface. Using the Explorer people can view search results not as a list, but as a place on the map. Using tags and search phrases multiple datasets can be rendered on the map, allowing users to get a clear idea about what surveys have been done or what pipelines or tenements are situated in an around an area. It also helps users to see the physical proximity of datasets, whether they overlap or adjoin. The data explorer is already at the prototype stage expected for release in the second quarter of 2021.
THE COMPLIANCE MODULE
Combase is working on the new compliance module. Often data is supplied by multiple sensors or nodes sitting out in the field or by multiple organisations which, of course, have their own priorities. How do you know when a node or an organisation has neglected to supply you with the agreed documentation or data? The new Datalign compliance module will allow administrators to declare a reporting schedule for a group of inputs and then to set up an associated dashboard, for the purposes of monitoring the compliance. Notifications can be set up when nodes or organisations fail to report or when their reports fail to meet the preconfigured criteria.
THE ENTERPRISE VIEW OF DATA
This will give administrators a detailed rendering of all of the data flows in their organisation. From sensors in the field to reports submitted by individuals. Administrators would instantly be able to locate the raw format of final reports or to track how data from sensors in the field are being rendered in corporate reports.
