Why is Datalign different

WHY IS DATALIGN DIFFERENT

SOMETHING FOR THE TECHIES

The most economical way to build a Data Management Platform (DMP) on the cloud is to use a serverless architecture. A serverless architecture is a way to build and run applications and services without having to manage infrastructure. You no longer have to provision, scale, patch and maintain servers to run your applications, databases, and storage systems. Instead the cloud provider runs the services, and dynamically manages the allocation of machine resources. It means that you only pay for your data system when it actually runs, and it only runs when there is a job to process.

The problem with serverless architectures is that they are complicated to set up and difficult to administer. There are a lot of moving parts, and there is no easy way to tell which part does what function. This is where Datalign helps you out. Datalign is a managed framework for automated deployment of new features to a serverless data management platform. Modules scripts and components are deployed from Datalign onto the cloud account, with all of the security settings in place and completely wired in to your DMP. The moving parts (serverless scripts, message queues, event system updates) are thus tagged and organised to work together, to raise events that your people can subscribe to and to send metrics to your dashboard.

Datalign is also different because its focus is on data and metadata management. There are multiple tools on the market that are designed to integrate data or to produce reports using multiple data sources. These tools are very good but they tend to ignore important question about data provenance, copyright, privacy all of which form part of the neglected field of metadata management.
